It seems like the internet has been going nuts in anticipation of the latest installment in the Re-Up Gang's "We Got It For Cheap" mixtape series. I think the buzz started about a week ago when snippets from the new disc started leaking on the internet. Hungry fans were teased a little more when MTV Jamz aired it's Mixtape Monday segment earlier this week. The streets have been eagerly awaiting to see what the Brothers Thornton and the two 6 foot plus Philadelphia MC's have in store this time around.

A lot has happened with the Clipse from the time that they released the first mixtape until now, and the "W.G.I.F.C" series has been a lifeline during a time when record label red tape prevented them from getting their music into the hands of eagerly awaiting fans. They went from a successful relationship with Arista to fighting to get off of Jive to now having their own label.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Push T earlier this week and we discussed everything from Souljah Boy to the "on again off again....now on one more time" beef with Lil Wayne.

WHAT IF...???

I've decided to start a new section on the site calle "What If...???" This is going to be the part of the site where I ponder What If some things were different than they actually are.

So, for the first installment of "What If...???" I'm going to ask myself "What If...all of the characters in HBO's awesome show The Wire were played by rappers? Who would play each character and what traits do they have that would make them right for the part.

Now I know there have been so many characters that have come and gone over the years, so I am going to just stick with the principal people from the show. Now this wouldn't be one of those cheesy Hip Hoperas. This would be the real deal just with rappers instead of actors.

Marlo Stanfield - I think Marlo should be played by Lil Wayne. Marlo is one of those characters that either you love or hate. Last season he came hard at knocking the king off of the throne. Similar to the way that Lil Wayne made his stake at being the "best rapper alive" Marlo wants to be the only choice for customers who want to but Heroin in the West side of Baltimore. This season, Marlo is the king, but it is still hard to see if he is going to keep that number one spot for a long time, or if his reckless behavior and cockiness is going to be his downfall.



Avon Barksdale - Avon should be played by Nas. Avon is THAT dude and everyone knows it, but sometimes it seems like the game has just passed him by and he refuses to adapt to the times. We all know that Avon can bang out with the best of them, but sometimes he just doesn't make the best decisions. Nas is hands down one of the greatest lyricists of our time, but sometimes he can be stuck in his musical ways and refuses to give us an updated sound. Regardless of how much of an OG he becomes, people still respect Nas, just like they respect Avon Barksdale



Chris Partlow - I don't think there is anyone who exemplifies the psychopath characteristics of Chris Partlow other than The Game. Chris can be friendly one minute, and the next minute he's shooting some poor blind man in the head. Just think about how The Game's sometimes bipolar behavior resembles that of Chris. I'm sure if it wasn't for rapping, The Game would probably be killing people and throwing them in vacant buildings.


Snoop Pearson - Now I was kinda struggling with who should play Snoop. At first I was just gonna allow her to play herself, since she does such a great job of portraying herself. Then I thought about Remy Ma, because I know how much she likes to shoot people in the stomach. But then as I thought about it a little more, I figure who better to play Snoop than my boo Key-Lo-Lo. I think Keyshia would do some justice to Snoop's character because we all know that she don't take no mess . She would also bring a little bit of sexiness to the character. Just imagine how ill it would be if we got to see the character of Snoop in some Vicky's boy shorts after a long day of murders and assault with deadly weapons. We could even throw Keyshia's mother Frankie in for good measure to give it that authentic crack head feel.



Proposition Joe Now Prop Joe has the best product in Baltimore and also has the lowest price. There is not one person who could play this roll better than Mr. 17.5. Young Jeezy was made to play Prop Joe. The slick talker who always finds a way to put himself in the best situations regardless what opposition comes his way. Prop Joe is probably the most likable drug dealer that I have ever seen and just like Jeezy, he can adapt to any situation and make something out of nothing.


Omar Little - What gun happy rapper would be able to pull off walking through a neighborhood and robbing drug dealers for their product and their money? There is only one person that comes to mind for this one. The man who often straddles the line between genius and insanity just like Omar does...T.I.P. I could see TIP walking through now with his southern drawl telling victims things like"The KANG is back pimpin" as he waves a double barrel shotgun in their face.

TIP is perfect for this role because he is even able to bring his own props. Check out the pictures below of the guns that he was caught trying to purchase a few months ago.



Michael Lee - Aaaahhhh....Micahel...The youngin' who turned the show upside down and showed us how gangsta he really was and how he was not going to let anyone else dictate what he did. Not his mother, not his teachers, not even his friends. Lupe is a rapper who won't be defined by anyone's standards but his own. We try to call him a backpacker, and he dispels that notion when he tells the world that he has never heard Midnight Marauders by A Tribe Called Quest. Just like Michael, Lupe has a fan base filled with people who come from all walks of life. Regardless of how much wrong he does, he just keeps finding a way for us to stay on his side. And just like Michael will tear your head off with his gun, Lupe will rip through every part of your brain if you actually sit down and listen to his complex lyrics.



Mcnulty and Bunk - I think the person who plays McNulty has to be a cool ass YT dude. There are a few of those that I could have chosen from, but the Hip Hop community has kind of adopted Travis Barker as one of our own. Travis just looks like he likes to get pissy drunk and have sex with random women then wake up, take a few swigs of Listerine and go home to his wife just like McNulty.

I chose Swizzie because He could bring some animation to the character of Bunk. Just imagine Swizz walking up on a suspect and hitting one of his trademark ad libs like "HEY...HEY...HEY"



Clay Davis - Who better to play a crooked senator than a crooked preacher....Mase fits right in for this character. Nuff Said...Sheeeeeeeiiiiitttt!!!!!



Bubbles - We've watched the character of Bubbles evolve somewhat over the last few seasons. We have seen him go through so much. The drug addiction, being victimized by other people, and being sucked into the dark side of society. It wasn't until this season that we see Bubs realizing that only he can change his circumstances. Lauryn Hill has been through so much over the years, and seems to be fighting some of the same demons that Bubs has faced throughout the years. Drug addiction...Depression...and dressing up in the finest clothes that bozo the clown used to own have caused some to wonder what is really goin on with Miss Hill. Just like Bubs, nobody knows what actually caused L Boogie to get to the point that she is at now, but just like Bubs, we want her to get cleaned up and get her act together.

LIL WAYNE ARRESTED...AGAIN

According to TMZ, Lil Wayne was arrested last night by cops near Yuma, Arizona. Weezy got popped for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wayne is still in custody pending the outcome of his arraignment later today.

UPDATED Cops say that Wayne was caught with 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine and 41 grams of ecstasy pills on his tour bus.

When asked why he had all those drugs on the bus, Weezy reportedly told the cop "CUZ I'M SO HOOD!!!!"

USHER'S FATHER PASSES AWAY

Usher's reps have confirmed that the singer's father Usher Raymond III has passed away in an Atlanta hospital. The cause of death has not been reported yet, and Usher was not available for comment.

Eminem's best friend Proof was shot and killed last year, his on again, off again relationship with his baby mamma Kim and the turbulent relationship with his mother have all caused Marshall to change his eating habits.

NATE DOGG'S GIRLFRIEND CALLS 911

West Coast crooner Nate Dogg suffered what was many people thought was a "heart attack" last month.

A few days ago it was revealed that Nate actually suffered a stroke. He has been in a California recovery facility since being released from the hospital on December 26th.

Nate's girlfriend made the call to 911 and alerted them that he was in need of medical assistance.

IKE TURNER DIED FROM COKE OVERDOSE

According to a report that was recently released from the San Diego County Medical Examiner, soul legend Ike Turner died as a result of a cocaine overdose.

"We are listing that he abused cocaine, and that's what resulted in the cocaine toxicity," said Paul Parker, chief investigator at the medical examiner's office.

According to the medical examiner, Turner also suffered from heart disease and emphysema.

R & B SINGER CHAUNCEY BLACK ARRESTED

Chauncey (Black) Hannibal, formerly of the group Blackstreet was arrested in California on Monday night. Tuesday he was extradited to the custody of the Virginia Beach Va police department.

Hannibal is being held without bail for failure to pay spousal and child support.

Hannibal had been on the run from police since January 2007 after he destroyed his home when he found out that it was being placed in foreclosure. Hannibal had been charged with vandalizing the $582,000 home after being evicted six months earlier.

I hate to say it, but this dude needs to be locked up...He owes one of my peoples some dough and refused to pay up..Hopefully sitting in that steel box will help him learn how to pay his debtors.

Now, I'm always in favor of a good beef or somebody lyrically getting their wig pushed back. But I'm starting to think there should be a new rule that states that if you are going to beef with someone, you need to have at least have a decent album out in the last few years.

Remy and Lil Kim are going at each others throats, and the beef provides great comedy, but I won't be dedicating to much time to it because Remy likes to shoot people and Kim's addiction to plastic surgery is just a damn shame.

I haven't really been keeping up with the whole Making The Band show since Babs, Fred, Dylan and them used to get locked out of the studio for fighting all the time.

But this season looks like its going to be pretty good. All of the winners from the most recent seasons are living in one house and competing to see who can make the best record.

This all looks fine and dandy, but I think they should throw Young Chopper and Fred the thumb sucker up in the crib just to mix things up a little.

According to Albany NY newspaper, The Times Sun, several Hip Hop superstars are being investigated for using illegal steroids and human growth hormones similar to the drugs that have been linked to individuals in the sports world recently.

According to the paper, Timbaland, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Wyclef, and Tyler Perry are all being investigated for receiving steroids and human growth hormones from a Long Island doctor.

Records shared with the Times Union and information from several cooperating witnesses on Long Island indicate Blige and other stars were shipped prescribed human growth hormone or steroids -- sometimes under fictitious names -- at hotels, production studios, private residences, an upscale Manhattan fitness club and through the Long Island office of Michael Diamond, a chiropractor affiliated with the celebrities, sources said.

I hope this story isn't true, but if so it wouldn't surprise me because errybody got something up their sleeve these days and we all know that certain superstars have gotten extremely swole over the years.

Now I don't know about you, but a 30 year plea doesn't sound like much of a deal to me, especially for a man who's 40 years old.

According to police, Rice found Alberto Perez in the closet of his estranged wife Christina. When he found the man, Rice allegedly punched the man several times. After suffering a cut to his forehead, Perez called police.

Rice was arrested and charged with felony battery. He was released on $5,000 bail.

Glen Rice played in the NBA for 15 seasons. His career included stints with the Hornets, Timberwolves, Lakers, Knicks, Rockets, and Clippers.

No word on if R. Kelly will feature Rice in the next installment of Trapped In The Closet.

DR. WEST'S AUTOPSY REPORT

The Los Angeles County Coroner released the results from Dr. Donda West's autopsy yesterday. In the report, the coroner states that Dr. West died as a result of "coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors due to or as a consequence of liposuction and mammoplasty." In other words, she had a heart attack after the surgery.


The report also states that there was no evidence that the actual surgery caused her death. This clears Dr. Jan Adams of any wrong doing in the death. Dr. Adams who is not a board certified surgeon had been attacked by many media outlets over the last few months.

The lawsuit was filed against Georgia based Rowe Entertainment, Inc and claims that Ne-Yo's label spent "substantial monies in preparation for the tour and turned down other touring and performance opportunities for Smith in reliance on Rowe's agreement that Smith would perform on the tour."
